Posted By Michael Griffith Hello Everyone, The company where i work has a high turnover of staff and using outside trainers to train and retrain employees is proving costly, not just for initial training but also for refresher courses. What we would like to do is train long term existing employees to the relevant standards so all future training can be held in house. One of the areas we are looking at is to have someone suitably trained to be able to deliver the safe use of overhead cranes and loose lifting tackle course in house. Does anyone know what this type of course involves or where we can get someone trained to the necessary level in the Manchester area. All help would be appreciated. cheers, Mick.

Posted By Roger Blanchard Mick, Realise they're not too near Manchester, but Morris Material Handling (ie Morris Cranes) at Loughborough have a very comprehensive series of "Train the Trainer" courses, one of which is a 5-day "Safe operation & use of overhead travelling crane, incorporating safe lifting & slinging". They run timed courses in their factory which your chosen trainer would attend along with other delegates. Courses are very well run & fees are reasonable. I speak from experience as I attended this course last year to enable me to due exactly what you are proposing to do! Bernard Grantham, Morris Institute Training Manager is your man on 01509 643236. If you need further info please e mail direct. Roger
