Posted By Robert S Woods Can anyone help with info on the HSE's free leaflet HSC6 Writing a safety policy statement: Advice for employers? I can find plenty of referances to it on the web but not on any of the HSE sites: .gov.uk , direct or books. I think it has been replaced by Stating your business. I need this info as one of my clients is undergoing a CHAS assessment and the assessor is insisting that the policy complies with this document which is no good if it's not available any more.

Posted By Robin Gonard It was replaced by Stating Your Business, which was an easy to complete template policy. Unfortunately, this has been discontinued and replaced with INDG259rev1 "Introduction to Health and Safety" which includes the health and safety policy template. It is available free to download at http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg259.pdf

Posted By Geoff Burt How can the CHAS assessor insist on compliance with a document that has been withdrawn? Come on CHAS, buck up, I have a lot of faith in your system!

Posted By John Murphy I apologise for any inconvenience caused by the reference to HSC6 in our assessment standards. This was caused by an administrative error. The correct reference is IND(G) 259 as clarified by Robin – Thanks.
