Posted By Fornhelper Hi all, I am due to attend a professional development interview with my Director in the near future and would be interested to hear the thoughts of other practitioners regarding further professional development. I have already attained Diploma / MIOSH / RSP and I am looking for a new 'challenge'...(though I appreciate having achieved these doesn't mean I can 'switch off'!!) Any views or advice on other studies or avenues of professional development that you feel would be of benefit to a 'generalist' health and safety professional would be greatly appreciated. FH

Posted By Darby Allan It often falls to H&S practitioners to deal with environemental issues. Why not consider an Environmental qual eg IOSH managing environmental responsibilites; IEMA certificate or the NEBOSH specialist environemental diploma. Regards Chair ESG so I would have to say that wouldn't I.

Posted By Stuart Nagle I would recommend both 14001 and 18001 lead auditor courses (IRCA accredited) that can lead to registration with IRCA. Both are 'not cheap' but lead auditors in these fields are always sought after. You do of course have to be in a position to undertake audits on 14001 and 18001 and have the audits themselves audited by the accreditors to gain recognition.... Stuart
