Posted By John Mackessack Now I'm really on a roll! Feet up by the TV with a cool beer or ................this?! Well 'this' is rattling away at me so needs must. I am desperate (yes, really) to start 'properly' auditing our safety management system. I am also keen to align toward an 18001 structure as this would integrate nicely with our Q & E systems, but I have some weeks before my IRCA course......and I can't wait!! Does anyone have any sample audit checklists I can try out (steal, borrow, beg) to get my head around this......and whether it is best to take a process approach or a departmental approach to OSH audits? I do have some very expert auditors to learn from, but they are not H&S specialist so I need to make sure it does not get too 'Quality'...if you know what I mean. I am stumbling very much into uncharted territory so any comments, anecdotes or derisory observations are welcomed! Pass the Special Brew! John

Posted By Michael Emery John, We've developed a checklist suitable for use by non-safety specialists. In reality I guess it's a combination audit/inspection checklist but it has worked very well for us. Our farms are OHSAS 18001 registered but the checklist isn't directly aligned with the standard in the way you might want. I'd be happy to let you have a copy if you can let me have your email address. Michael
