Posted By Ian Waldram If you go to HSE website and type in 'pressure system' the first reference is to their leaflet INDG261, which summarisies what you need to do. This includes appointing a competent person to inspect equipment that falls within the definition. Usually such 'persons' are in fact independent companies who specialise in such work, often they an engineering inspection group working for an insurance company. If you do need to appoint someone, they would usually be the best source of training, as it can then be tailored a bit to the equipment you actually have. The other HSE references give more detail, but I guess the leaflet quoted is the sort of summary you want?
