Posted By Jane Watts Hmm, interesting e-mail name;) Right, trying to stay on top of what's happening etc with the Directives. RoHs is easy, implementation next year. I know WEEE is due to start from next month, but aren't there still outstanding issues with who the national clearing house is etc etc? I know the Directive will be implemented regardless, but I thought there were some outstanding issues? Also, the Hazardous waste regs and directive, where do these sit in relation to RoHS and WEEE?

Posted By Stephen Clark Jane, i have been keeping an eye on these issues for some time. I suggest you contact Phil at Transform. This is a body (part of Biffa) that manages such issues. phil.conran@biffa.co.uk Phil sends me regular updates on WEEE etc if you would like copies i will send them. clark.s@virgin.net

Posted By S.Alder HWD comes into force this year, you (or you company) is required to register as a hazardous waste producer if you produce any waste on the hazardous waste list (environment agency website). You will probably get all the info you need off this website. Another really useful source of information is the NSCA pollution handbook 2005, this contains details of all current and pending environmental legislation and is a snip @ £40.00 . Hope this helps you.
