Posted By Melanie Harrison With the WAH Regs now in place can someone please advise me on best way to prevent falls when using a tailgate lift eg should we be introducing restraining harnesses, or would it be beter to use a guard rail and edge protection around the platform?

Posted By J Knight Hi Melanie, Could you expand on this a bit? My general impression is that people shouldn't be riding on a tail gate, unless it's a lift for wheelchairs &c in which case you should already have a ssow in place to prevent passengers falling off, which in some cases will mean you are already using clamps and so on, John

Posted By Robert K Lewis Most of these devices are not tested for persons either under LOLER so the answer is to ensure they don't. If they were tested for lifting persons then the previous reply is right on the money Bob
