But, if you need to ask what Regs etc you should be considering are you in fact competent to provide the assistance that you are providing? If I was your friend and saw your post I would start worrying deeply about the application of MHSW Regs - Regs 7 & 21 and also about professional indemnity insurance and civil liability. I just hope that I have misunderstood the intent of your question. Frank Hallett

I have done many fire training courses with different companies that are associated with London Underground and hold a current fire watchman’s cert. As with anyone who stand in front of others you never know what experience others have and what their backgrounds have been. My retention of regs has always been terrible compared to some who have been in H & S for many many years, so before I approach a subject, I like to have a good understanding of the regs in my head should there be ay questions on them. The training is at a low level, instructing people what to do in the case of a fire, types of extinguishers and what fires they can be used on etc… a couple of vids/DVD’s and a tick test at the end to see what they have retained throughout their training. Hope this helps to settle your nerves… LOL.
