Posted By Vaila Mackenzie If there is no limit set for a substance in EH40 as an OES, does this mean that the limit is Zero? Having problems getting head round HCN which has MEL but no OES. Any guidance would be great.

Posted By Paul Leadbetter Vaila There has been a change to UK legislation; MELs and OESs have been replaced by Workplace Exposure Limits (WELs). All of the MELs and most of the OESs have become WELs. WELs should be treated like MELs; they must not be exceeded. HCN has a short-term WEL of 10 ppm. Paul
