Posted By Scott Pearson Hi can anyone offer any advice with regards to sun tanning booths like those you find in gyms and tanning studios. is there any governing legislation or warnings that should be given to prospective users legally or is it at own risk. i understand morally what we should do but is there any legal requirement.

Posted By wemurphy Hi Sott I am not aware of any specific legislation apart from the usual requirements of the HASAWA and the Managent Regs. However, you may find the following document produced by the HSE on the following link useful. http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg209.pdf There is also an organisation called the Sunbed Association which may be able to advise you further. I work for a leisure trust that offer sun tanning facilities and we have procedures in place to inform and protect customers. If I can be of further help, feel free to email me direct.
