Hi Lisa
I'm just writing my JAQ as we speak.
Have heard grades from 5 to 8a/b have been implemented. The higher ones dependent on management of people/depts, budgetary control etc.
Regards
Angela

Won't be any news in Scotland for a month or two yet. We have completed (first in Scotland) but are not allowed to announce grades until a few others are ready. I suppose they want to avoid embarassing anomolies appearing

Hi
Band 7 - which in real terms is a £4k per annum drop.
Is there a national profile for H&S - couldn't find it on the DH website so interested to know what they have matched me to.

Hi Kim
there isn't a national profile for a health and safety adviser. I think there are fire safety adviser profiles but correct me if I'm wrong.
Out of interest did they "match" rather than JAQ you and if so do you know what job they compared yours with?

My job description has to be in for the end of the month. bearing in mind that there is no extra resoure to fund the whole process and that the majority of nursing staff seem to be gaining from it someone has to lose out...

I am a "Project Manager" Band 6.
Current salary is within this band so I will assimilate to the next highest, so no immediate fear, but leaves only one point left to move-up to next year (KSF Gateway permitting) before reaching the top of the band.
Job matching resulted in 419 points, quite a way off from the requisite 466 required to get onto Band 7, so appealing would almost definately result in a JAQ, which I have been advised against persuing by management and staff side as it may result in rebanding at a lower-level.
Having been with the NHS for six months I can see my long-term career prospects clearly!!
