Posted By Phil Richards I'm looking for some guidance on this one. Workshop electrically driven machinary i.e. Lath, Piller Drill ect. Fully tested on installation. hard wired into a protected electrical system a couple of years ago. PAT therefore not applicable. Question - Does the equipment require any routine additional testing? Any thoughts!

Posted By Paul Oliver What do the manufacturers instructions say?, and what safety devices are fitted to the machinery? It is critical that all safety devices undergo proactive inspection and maintenance with a record maintained of these checks. Paul

Posted By Chris Pope Message for Frank Hallett : We know you are right. Could you please elaborate as to the type of electrical testing that you have organised in the past on the type of tools mentioned.

Posted By Frank Hallett My apologies to all for being overly terse in my original response. The EaW Regs & PUWER and associated ACoP & Guidance will tell you what you need to consider to demostrate that an item of plant and associated electrical infrastructure are electrically and mechanically acceptably safe. There are also several HS[G] publications that will help. Chris, I really don't feel it necessary to answer your question about testing that I may have previously organised. Frank Hallett
