Posted By George Leung As a soon chartered person, would you agree with me that we should have a personalized stamp or seal for our professional works? Please throw in your view.

Posted By Frank Hallett Interesting point George and one that deserves some response from IOSH as well as us that form the proletariat. My immediate response is "perhaps, but definitely leaning toward Yes"; mainly 'cos it will be a very good marketing and personal validation tool for us poor ole consultants [don't all choke on your beer - there aren't enough voluntary first-aiders around]. There's nothing to stop the individual creation and issue of IOSH controlled digital signature style official marks. Frank Hallett

Posted By john fitzgibbon Coat of Arms maybe? Lets keep our feet on the ground George. A signature should suffice, the more illegible the better (c.f. the medical profession) There are many threads that seem to indicate a rising tide of a collective inferiority complex amongst safety professionals.

Posted By Robert K Lewis John Inferiority - Never. They think they know it whilst I really know that I do know it. Seals now only used on formal documentation and in very limited circumstances. As for illegible signatures most people can't even understand me saying my name let alone reading my signature. Bob

Posted By Karen Todd As a chartered mechanical engineer, registered with ECUK, for £59.00 I can get a stamp: http://www.engc.org.uk/P.../Professional_stamp.aspx However, after forking out £77.00 application for Corporate Membership fee, something like £25 for a nice coloured certificate instead of the free black & white one when I did get chartered status, £130 subscription fees and £40.50 to the Engineering Council, I'm a bit skint!!! So, I'll not be paying the £59 for a stamp, nor the £29.95 for a nice frame to put my certificate in! KT

Posted By Merv Newman When I got RSP status I had a seal made up at the local "sole & heel, keys cut while you wait" shop. Cost about a fiver. Round with "Institution of Occupational Safety and Health" on the outside, name, rank and number on the inside. I was going to stamp all contracts and reports with my newly acquired status. Felt a bit pretentious though. So I didn't. Any offers ? Merv

Posted By Lynchy How Do Merv Hope you're well. Are you allowed to use IOSH's name then?? It's OK by me but won't they get a bit precious about it?? I'd like to know because I must admit I think it's not a bad idea - and would be good for marketing as well - people love a fancy logo that looks important even if they don't know what it's for, don't they? And if it looks official so much the better, eh! Lynchy

Posted By Merv Newman Hi Lynchy, can't see the problem, my business cards and letterhead say MIOSH which is just shorthand for the full title. And I'm not claiming a status to which I'm not entitled. Didn't try to reproduce the seal though. The local heel-and-sole man isn't up to that. Merv

Posted By Lynchy Merv Fair enough - you're right it is only the same as putting MIOSH after your name isn't it? Our local heel and sole bloke can do anything with a knife and some rubber!!!!!!!! Lynchy

Posted By J Knight Chartered Society of Physiotherapists don't have a stamp, they can bend your arms to read MCSP from the right viewpoint though. Honestly, it's only some letters chaps, don't let it go to your heads, John
