Posted By Frank Hallett Just sit down with a competent electrician and make a list of the things that could kill you if the equipment is not properly installed, used, maintained or tested. Then go and watch a typical construction site at work and re-write the list to include all the poor practice that you see. Then produce check-lists for stores-keepers, maintainers, another for users, a further one for the supervisors and make sure that all are properly informed and trained. Frank Hallett

Posted By MungoDundas Hi, There are electrical contractors who specialise in ‘site electrics’, maybe you could track them down through the Electrical Contractors Association [http://www.eca.co.uk/]. Some electrical installation and testing guidance available from HSE. HSG 141, ‘Electrical Safety on Construction Sites’. HSG 107, ‘Maintaining Portable and Transportable Electrical Equipment’ Additionally the 16th Edition Wiring Regulations BS7671:2002 offers points to consider. Rgds, MD.
