Posted By i.don I am looking for a training provider that will run PUWER risk assessment training. I have found lots that will explain regs to students but none that do practical training. Has anyone used or know of any? Thanks in advance Ian

Posted By SteveS Hi, Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe PUWER requires risk assessments. Risk assessments are driven out of MHSW, MHO, COSHH etc. Regards Steve

Posted By Andy In my opinion, when a machinery risk is highlighted on an assessment, specific questions need answering regarding suitability of machine to environment, to the person, guarding, CE marking etc, whether you call it a questionnaire or assessment is up to you, however, some of the questions that need asking are, Suitability for Task (Reg. 4), suitability/Maintenance Requirements (Reg. 5&6), Restrictions of Use/Training (Reg. 7,8&9), Guarding of Dangerous Parts (Reg. 11), Specified Hazards (Reg. 12), Controls, Control systems, Stop & Emergency Stop controls (Reg. 14, 15, 16, 17&18) We have a form for this which we call a PUWER assessment. Horses for courses, it works well for us. Regards Andrew
