Posted By Shivani In the near future there will be a VIP who wishes to visit and land at our site by helicopter. I would be very grateful for advice regarding which authorities need to be consulted, site suitability and any other permissions (E.g.does there have to be a letter 'H' on the pad?)This is the first time this has happened here. The site itself has a concrete pad of 1000m x 500m, there are some lagoons some 800m away from this pad and diesel storage tanks 600m (small amount of stored). All other debris can be cleared easily. Any examples of risk assessments would be a great help! Thank you!

Posted By Robert. Why don't you contact the VIPs management. They should put you straight in touch with the chopper Co. They may need more specific requirements if its a big 'un other than the statutory requirments.

Posted By TBC Whilst in the Fire and Rescue Service we used to standby for landings where little or no facilities exist, but these were for military emergency and rescued persons going to hospital. You may need to pay for this special service as a private event though. Good Luck

Posted By Jonathan Sandler Why does the vip have to land on your site? is there an mod site near by? include TAVR units bases. As stated in another reply, get the vip's management team to sort it out, if this was the Home Office carrying out this task they would have done this by now. Jonathan

Posted By Shivani Thanks for your responses. I did ask if other methods of transport could be used as there is a major road running adjcent to the site: it appears that helicopter is the chosen method!
