Posted By David A Jones If you are looking for this in respect of OHSAS 18001 you may be missing the point - what you need to establish under 18001 is that legislation which is relevant to your activities not just a list of all legislation. If you are going to use this list to then identify those that are relevant you would also need (in principle if not in practice, as you may already know) to know the content of the legislation to cross reference. Personally we use one of the many providers of on-line health and safety documentation to assist us in this respect (by having access to their listings) together with our general awareness of what is happpening from sources such as the HSE, SHP, IOSH etc.

It's useful to have this document anyway if you are going down the OHSAS 18001 route.

It contains a list of all safety, health and environmental legislation even loosely connected with our profession and I find it a concise and useful summary of the week's commentary on HS&E issues. Posted By Derrick Robinson Paul. For our 18001 stystem I have a simple list which notes the main legislation which is relevant to each operational area of the company. This is posted on the company intranet with links to HSE, HMSO, Envirowise and other usefull sites. In this way we demonstrate that we have considered the legislation relevant to our activities and that we have made available to our managers the ability to access further information if they need it. This system has passed certification audits for both 18001 and 14001. Derrick
