Software: my initial HSE Inspector training, being able to talk to colleagues and bounce things off them
Probably most improtant thing is interpersonal skills - being able to get talking to people and get them to tell you things without feeling threatened.

2] My telephone- if I don't know then I know someone who does on the end of the phone.
3] The internet - what a timesaver for finding the answers

The Greedy - who take short cuts The Ignorant - who don't want to know The bloody stupid - who should know better
Without these sort of people we wouldn't have a role to fulfil, trying to keep people safe and out of harms way. Long may they continue. I'm not a pessimist, just a realist.
