Posted By Karl Andrew Curtis I am currently researching information for my final year MSc thesis in occupational safety and health. I am particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has information relating to past research studies etc which have involved multiple computer screen working and their link to potential musculoskeletal disorders. Any information or comment would be greatly appreciated Karl

Posted By JEFFREY SMITH This is an interesting point. Working for the MOD as I do, we have several persons doing just this. Neck ache is an occupational hazard and have already suggested that they buy 'flip boxes' so that they can work with just the one screen and multiple computers. However, for security this is not always an option. For this we have the sccreens in a semi-circular pattern and the users on swivel chairs. This way they do not have to move the neck too far in order to see any screen. Also, each screen has a number of cameras on them so that it swops over on a regular basis thus cutting down the amount of screens required.

Posted By Helen Horton I had a trial for multi-screen working as part of a part time job I did earlier this year. As I wear varifocals I found the constant movement of head and eyes to look from screen to screen very tiring and ended up feeling like I had motion sickness and with a bad migraine.
