Posted By Jason Hough Our company provides pvc covered gloves to our employees as PPE. We handle steel bars and the gloves get covered in oil. Employees get new gloves each day. We get aprox 200 pairs of waste gloves per week. We now treat these contaminated gloves as special waste. Does anybody know if these could be recycled or re-used somehow it seems to be a waste of resources. We have tried to get them washed but they crack and split. Any suggestions greatfully recieved

Posted By Robert K Lewis I suspect you are using a leather variant of a glove and these are notorious for being non-cleanable. I would look to finding a different glove. Both Marigold and Ansell Edmont provide wide ranges of various types many of them are cleanble or at least do not soak up oil or water - talk to them as they ought to be able to resolve this for you.
