Posted By Chris Pope I have a colleague who rang me today with a plea for help. He has a need to collect waste matter for processing from various sites and has therefore managed to create a successful forklift attachment integral to a lorry crane which has a tipping facility for 1 tonne bins. They get tipped into the tipper lorry which has the crane. Does anyone know of a specialist who could assist with obtaining compliance for CE marking and insurance inspection for lifting equipment who would be sympathetic rather than bureaucratic.

Posted By Lynne Ratcliffe Chris, I have made adaptations to the fabrication of items to perform additional functions in the past as a major part of r&d and found that insurers were more than happy to assist with the names of people that could help steer us through to CE marking, compliances, testing etc. etc. Sorry cannot be of greater help but to even start with the accumulation of the necessary BSIs etc is a nightmare without some guidance and they are the ones who give you the insurance at the end of the day and it is in their best interests to assist.
