Dear Colleagues,

I am trying to find an insprational speaker to address and motivate a board of directors of a large manufacturing company who wish to learn more about actions that can be taken by them and others in the company to improve safe behaviours and performance. The ideal person would be:

- an inspirational speaker;

- with experience in a lively manufacturing environment, ideally food;

- who has had to influence the safety behaviour and culture of not only the board but also the shop-floor operators;

- and who has experience of doing so internationally.

This sounds like an impossible remit. However, do you know of an inspirational speaker who could fulfil some or all of the above criteria, please?

Kind regards, Steve Bradley, CFIOSH

I would plump for Peter McKie, former MD Dupont Europe, if he is available. Contact me as I thinkI have his details at home somewhere.

Contact Philip on 028 44613383 or use my email to get in touch. Either Philip or I can answer definitely yes to your bullet point criteria 2,3 and 4. Usually we leave others to judge whether we are in the "inspirational speaker category" but feedback is usually positive.

CVs are on the website.

Good luck with your search and best wishes

Ken Woodward is a superb speaker. He was involved in an industrial accident approx 10 years ago so speaks from experience. He spoke at the IOSH H & S Seminar at Weston-super-Mare a few years ago. I believe he can be contacted through Outtakes Video Communications www.outtakes.co.uk

Steve,
If you find someone who fits the bill tell them to hurry home as their son is due in about five days,

Steve

I attended a safety seminar (4 hours) run by a person called Eddie Woods.

Found it very inspirational and thought provoking with some extremely useful advice.

My company are considering an extensive roll-out programme.

Hi I would recommend Gordon Pimperton who works through Pivotal Training. Gordon has carried out two safety for senior execs courses for me to great reviews. Gordon is ex MD of AMT international. Sure he would be excellent for your needs.

Steve.
Either Louise Vassie or Colin Fuller, both ex tutors from Leicester Uni, Louise works for IOSH full time now, might be worth a ring?
