John,
There are (or were) some parts still in force. When I had reason to check one particular section last year I contacted our HSE Inspector who was very helpful, as it happened the section I was interested in had been repealed that year.
You could try Google, it will throw up several references.

Try looking in one of the CDROM based products such as Croner or Tolley or look in a commentary such as that produced by Gregg Miles.
Nothing left of relevence though (not to us anyway) but we aren't a factory...

Dear Diane,
You quickly learn about the usefulness of law citators; these are used to check the exact status of a law. There are law citators for statute law, statutory instruments and case law. All of which are updated on a frequently; sometimes on a daily basis, but usually weekly. I have included some examples:
Example 1.
Health and Safety at work Act 1974 (Chapt 34) Section 1 -
(1)(c) was modified by SI 2002/282
(1)(d) was repealed by the Environmental Protection Act 1990, s 162(2), Sch 16, Pt I
(2) was amended by the Employment Protection Act 1975, ss 116, 125(3), Sch 15, para 1, Sch 18
Example 2.
SI 1992/3067 Asbestos (Prohibitions) Regulations 1992 was amended by 1999/2373, 2977; 2003/1889
Example 3.
Wilsons and Clyde Coal Co Ltd v English [1937] 3 All ER 628
Applied, Speed v Thomas Swift & Co [1943] 1 All ER 539
Considered, Riverstone Meat Co Pty Ltd v Lancashire Shipping Co Ltd [1958] 3 All ER 261
Considered and explained, Davie v New Merton Board Mills Ltd [1959] 1 All ER 346
Dicta applied, Riverstone Meat Co Pty Ltd v Lancashire Shipping Co Ltd [1960] 1 All ER 193
Dictum applied, Davie v New Merton Board Mills Ltd [1957] 2 All ER 38
Dictum considered, McDermid v Nash Dredging and Reclamation Co Ltd [1986] 2 All ER 676
Dictum considered and explained, Davie v New Merton Board Mills Ltd [1958] 1 All ER 67
Dictum followed, Matthews v Kuwait Bechtel Corp [1959] 2 All ER 345
Explained, Wilson v Tyneside Window Cleaning Co [1958] 2 All ER 265
Law citators are available at most large public libraries. There are good ones published by Butterworth’s, as well as Sweet and Maxwell.

If you go to www.butterworths.com and search their catalogue you will find Redgrave in there.
It is the standard commentary that I have used for the last 1/4 century in its various forms. Cost is around £100 and there are update supplements. They can supply an online service at around £250 which is regularly updated.
