Posted By Robert K Lewis I'm sorry folks but you all need to spend a bit of time trying to drive round the tourist traps when you are local. Why is it that the rules of the road disappear when they arrive and they throw themselves into every nook, cranny and passing place on single track roads? They drive at 60mph everywhere unless someone is behind them who is trying to get to work or appointment then the speed drops to 10mph and the brakelights fail.
In Buxton we check for witches by standing them outside in midsummer with a single coat covering their clothes. If they survive they are witches and we can stone them or sentence them to a traffic jam in the Hope Valley!!:-)

Posted By Paul Marshall Hi all, Friday afternoon, weeks work has calmed down so thought I would take time out to place my own thoughts on this thread.
Don't know about "Time in Hell" I served for fifteen years and had a ball when I was forced to go to all those lovely places and enjoy the sunshine, sea and what ever else was on offer!
Jonathan asked “why so many ex forces are in the safety business” In my case when I was getting ready for resettlement back into Civvy street in the 90's, one of the routes that was suggested to get a decent job was to do NEBOSH Gen Cert & NEBS dip which would then put you on the road to a potential position in health and safety.
I took this route because it was simply transference of skills. Most of us ex forces safety boys and girls (yes there were girls in the forces); I am assuming were either senior ranks or officers, and were trained to manage people this included their safety and welfare; to train others, plan and organise, juggle limited resources and still get the job done, carry out investigations and deal with disciplinary issues etc. Not much difference with what we do now.
I'm Ex Royal Corps of Signals for those that may be interested.

Posted By Ken Taylor You seem to have a rather strange concept of Hell as far as temperature goes. I would have expected something a bit further up the scale - say sand, bullets and bombs a lot further East than the Brecons.
