Posted By Frank Hallett Hi Gill Please be very aware that whatever you manage to glean from free access sites will almost certainly still require to be tailored and modified to suit your organisations needs, activities, procedures, type of workforce etc. There is absolutely no substitute for purpose designed and implemented systems, procedures & training. Posted By Philip McAleenan Gill, We presented one of these programs to a major US risk management company who were sufficiently impressed to include it on a CD and sent it to 1,000 of their clients as part of the service they offered their premium holders. They subsequently went on to include it on their web-site as one of their on-line training resources for loss control. Frank is correct to emphasise the importance of tailoring training to the needs of the company and the individuals undertaking the training. Programs that we have developed on the Internet are action-learning programs. Action learning requires learners to carry out activities related to what they are studying, preferably within their own company. This approach tests their learning in a real situation and provides them with useful material and documentation for their company’s own safety procedures. Regards, Philip

Posted By Gill Reavley Thanks Frank, Our problem is having staff scattered round the country and working all round the world. It is difficult, as well as costly, to get them into the office for traditional office based training. I believe some online courses can be tailored to company needs but with web sites set up by every man and his dog I was looking for feedback from other companies who have utilised such online resources. Regards, Gill
