Posted By cshaw Can anyone help,
I am trying to find information on guide dogs in the workplace, particularly call centres.
The call centre has modified the system to accommodate partially sighted / blind employees, however, other members of the call centre staff are suffering from irritation and adverse allergic reactions caused by the dog.
Can anyone offer advice or point me in the direction of any sources of information on this sensitive issue.

Posted By bigwhistle You had better get a better ventilation system. If their stories are bonafide maybe they would provide details of an allergy test which I happen to know is available under the NHS.

Posted By Frank Hallett The DDA concept of "reasonable adjustments" is supposed to take into account any foreseeable adverse effectes of the proposed measures.
Introducing an animal into an untested environment will introduce the foreeability of allergic reactions, psychological aversion [phobia] to the type of animal, trip hazards, inappropriate behaviour of others towards the animal, emergency evacuation problems, etc; all of which should have been given suitable consideration prior to making the changes.
