Does anyone out there (preferably in the public sector or large org.) have their own in house Occupational Health service. If so, would you be willing to let me talk to you about how it is organised, who manages it, could I come and have a look and ask awkward questions etc.?
Thank you in anticipation
Linda

It would help perhaps if you mentioned where you are located Linda - you might not fancy travelling the length or breadth of the country (or then again, you might...)

We operate an in-house Occ Health department, but it is relatively small scale.
One nurse working 8.30am ~ 4.30pm Monday to Friday and a Doctor who visits twice a month for half a day each time (approx' 850 employees). The facility is mainly a first aid function but also carries out hearing tests, medicals, some Risk Assessments, etc. Management is via the Health, Safety and Environment Department with the Head of SHE also being the nurse's manager.
We have first aiders on site to act as first line help in the case of accident or incident.
If you need any further info, feel free to send me an e-mail.
