Posted By Andy Collins We have a depot that operates two propane fork lifts. We need to store the 12 kg LPG cannisters on site. We intend to store approximatey 10 full cannisters at any one time having a change around with 10 empty cannisters on a rolling basis. I've looked up advice and guidance regarding location and signs but I would apprecate some advice regarding construction of a suitable secure LPG storage compound. Also can we place empty and full containers in the same compound but ensure they are clearly segregated and identified? Do we have to chain together full containers within the locked compound? Any advice and guidance greatly appreciated.

Posted By JEFFREY SMITH The Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1994 also apply to LPG storage
Try the above, may give some info on cages etc. Although I am not sure a chain would do much good when a bottle goes up...

Posted By Steven i Think you'll find the chains are for support only to prevent them from falling over, you'd understand if you ever saw one go off after falling over!!!

Posted By terry mallard Have you looked at the LPG assoc Code of Practice 7, for compliance with the HASAWEA and the DSEAR 2002 and the MHWSR, with regard to gas cannister/bottles storage
