Posted By lewes Part of our company is to undertake some weekend work in a hospital mortuary. The work is to install a new waste pipe system onto a new mortuary table, but we will have to cut into the existing waste to connect onto. The existing pipework is currently used as it drains from the table and all its contents. I have already asked the main contractor to request H&S info from the hospital in respect of what we are likely to be exposed to so im currently waiting on that. I have already found some interesting info via the search facility, does anyone else have any info or advice.

Posted By David P. Johnson Be prepared to offer counselling before or after the work is done. I know at least two contractors who suffered PTSD following work within a Morgue. DJ

Posted By johnwaterson2773 How about carrying the work out after hours. That way save your workforce from encountering any corpses and also saving on any PTSD treatment. That bit may sound harsh but that is just me, sorry. Working at night may offer the best option although overtime cost could be an issue.
