Posted By The toecap Look at page 70 of the SHP. Top left corner. There's an advert for a book called 'The handbook of H & S Practice'. It states the price of £75. Wow i hear you say. Have you bought it yet? Now go to Amazon and have a look there. Its £32.50 delivered. How is that?

Posted By The toecap I don't know, but order it and if its not up to scratch send it back and get a refund. Or better still try and sell it on Ebay at a proffit. (Perhaps i should have started doing that.)

Posted By Gilly Margrave I had a look at a few online bookstores and found the 7th edition for £60 whereas ROSPA were asking £75 for the 6th edition. At 1002 pages Philby I think I'll just look at the pictures or even better just get someone to describe them to me. Gilly;)

Posted By Philby' can you imagine what It'd be like if the bloke that did King Kong or the Matrix guy did it...all CGI and no substance...what am I saying...who'd watch it 'straight to hell' despite the extremely low budget and the c**p reviews is actually a pretty damn good film and, is not Joe Strummer the best...RIP Back to book reviews, or rather not, I'm off now...a good weekend to you all, no working and no posting....work/life balanc and all that Philby'

Posted By Richard Mathews I don't want to be overly pedantic but it's only 56mm thick. Obviously not as thick me, I paid 68 bloody quid for it!! (mind you, being a Yorkshire man it wasn't my money) Richard

Posted By DJ While we are on the subject, has anybody looked at the advert on page 71. I happen to think it is an excellent idea for a contractor to be a member of a Trade Body, especially one which has a [voluntary] code of conduct, backed by disciplinary procedures. However, I still think it is much safer to have things tied up contractually, with [actual] remedies against the contractor who does not comply with health and safety, than rely on the [possible] action of his trade body. Just a point. DJ I am not singling out the NASC, it is simply that its advert appeared on page 71.
