Posted By SteveHowells Does anyone out there have a set system/forms/procedures/set of documents they use for auditing their management systems. I need some help in formulating some as I have just completed OHSAS 18001 Auditor course. Incidently does anyone use this and what do they think of it?

Posted By John Mac Carthy Steve I'm booked in for the same course in a few months time and would appreciate anything you come across. Good luck with the standard. Silly suggestion but have you looked at the 18002? How did you rate the course and is it for safety bods only, just wondering what the class mix was (quality/Env v safety) Goodluck John johnmaccarthy25@yahoo.com

Posted By SteveHowells It is primarily for safety bods. However, I did not learn as much about auditing as I thought I would. It is not a 4 day course. If they spent less time talking about H&S (grandmother and eggs and soforth) it would take 2 days.

Posted By David Whitelegg Steve I've used 18001 before and its environmental relative 14001. They are both good tools but just that a tool and how good they are is largely dependent on how they are used. I've found in the past that if external verification is involved it is a great motivator for those managers that like to be seen to be doing things right by their boss. So if you have managers that haven't bought in to safety then it can be agreat way to help achieve this. David

Posted By Stuart Nagle Steve If you have just completed the OHSAS 18001 auditors course, did this course not include a 'mock' audit at the end? audit paperwork for completion and course notes on 18001 and 18001 auditing...??? I would have thought on an auditors course this would have been fairly essential content as it was on my 18001 intensive 5 day course... Stuart

Posted By AlB I've been informed that the 9001 audit training course is the best if you want to get trained up on auditing.
