Hi,
We have had some of our alluminium mobile tower scaffolding parts broken due to incorrect stacking, we have the ability to weld and repair them but the question i need to ask is does it have to go back to the manafacturer for structual testing before we can use it again?

Not wanting to be unhelpful or critical, but I would say that you should be talking to the manufacturer.
They will be able to tell you of any treatment the alloy has undergone during manufacture and any need for testing, though I would guess that they may tell you that they will not inspect or warrrant any 'home made' repairs without destructive testing and will recommend replacement.
Having seen some 'home made' repairs fail I'm inclined to agree, say bite the bullet and buy new replacement parts.
Sorry if thats not what you were looking for

I would send them back to the manufacturer/supplier for repair or replacement. If you were to repair it yourself the manufacturer may refuse to certify it anyway.

Let the experts deal with it.
It may invilidate some form of insurance. Imagine what would happen if it failed due to overloading. Even though its overloaded the unqualified repair would have some contirbuting factor
