Im fully aware that a workplace has to have safe access and egress.
We have a set of internal stairs in an existing building leading from the parts dept on the ground floor to the first floor store room and has at least one turn in the stairs.
Is there a maximum size of step be it in height, width or depth ???

Lewes,
I don't know the actual numbers but you will find them in The Building Regulations 1991, Approved Document K - Stairs, ramps & guards.

There is also a limit on the maximum number of steps before you have to install a landing.

Sound very much like you have a set of 'Industrial type Stairs'. If so they would fall under the range of BS 5395 Part 3, this states that there should be a maximum of 16 risers for striaght stairs in a single flight/ it also states that there should be a change of line or direction of not les than 30° after 32 risers for striaght stairs. The relationship between the rise and the going is also a function of the pitch angle of the stairs.
We could offer some more detailed advise if more specific information were available.

Recommendations are:
1200mm wide
170mm or less in height
250mm deep
Hope that helps.
