I sit in cars all day as part of my job as a Driving Examiner, just recently I have had to ask for household automated air fresheners to be removed as I suffer flu/hayfever type symptoms and or migraines soon after breathing in the spray of chemicals.
I know they should not be used in such a small space, but instructors do this sort of thing and then object when they are asked to remove them.
Does anyone have any info about the chemicals that are sprayed into the air from these items and what
affect they can have on your health.

Posted By John McFeely Hi Ladyboss, Love the handle! If you try http://householdproducts.nlm.nih.gov/index.htm and insert the details you will get a list of the hazards that you might face. Once you have a list of the hazards go to the HSE website and see if you can get any further information on the Hazards. A good idea might also be to ask for a Risk/COSHH Assessment to be carried out once you have identified any hazards. This should remove the air freshener from the car. Good luck, Jackie McFeely
