Posted By Joel Benham We are reviewing our training package for our middle managers and wondered if anyone could recommend any good / cost effective ideas for engaging the audience. The sort of things we had in mind were safety videos that were humorous, ice breakers, group exercises, photographs, etc. The revised course content is likely to cover roles within a departmental safety management system / consultation arrangements & committee structures / risk assessment(s) / DDA / accident investigation. The bulk of the day will cover risk assessments and accident investigations. Any ideas / recommended videos etc would be gratefully appreciated.

Posted By Faye Brown Try the 'one fact that no-one in the room knows' method of introducing each other. Another one I have used that is effective for small teams, is to get them to find an object for each letter of the alphabet within say 10-15 minutes. Posted By Helen Horton I picked up loads of icebreakers from net - just did a search and downloaded that ones I liked the best. Use loads of case studies and group exercises to get everyone involved - work up real examples and get them to use your company's procedures and forms to unravel the cases. I've just done a City and Guilds 7302 Learning Delivery course and found it expanded my horizons in terms of making my training more interesting. Worth thinking about if you are going to do a lot of training.
