Posted By lajoni Are dangerous goods transported within UK by road governed by ADR regulations and require UN packaging and DGNs
Also can anyone tell me if classes 2.1 and 3 can be stored together?
Thank you

Posted By IanD Hi If the journey is kept within the UK, the Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2004 apply, if you leave the UK the ADR rules apply.
Regarding segregation - these classes of dangerous goods should not be stored in the same building or compound, unless, if indoors, they are segregated by at least a 30 minutes firewall. They can be stored outside in separate compounds as long as a suitable distance is provided between the two compounds.

Posted By lajoni Thanks for the reply... at work all dangerous goods going by road within the UK are being sent without proper packaging and no documentation. I deal with the export side but did question this and was told there was no legislation for the UK
As for classes 2.1 & 3 being stored seperately.... ours are stored on the same shelves!!!!!!!!!and this is a worldwide company
Could you please tell me where I can find this info in black and white so I can show them
Cheers

Posted By John Sh Hi Could I suggest you get hold of a copy of the ADR Regs which contains compatability info and are a must as the UK regs are the ADR regs with a few differences. They can be obtained from Labeline.

Posted By lajoni Hi I do have copies of the ADR regs but I just can't find anything on storage in the workplace only segregation in transport
In fact it was a Labeline poster that first bought my attention to this as it had guidelines for storage which said they had to be fire seperated but bosses said they were only guidelines and not regs....so just thought I would try and delve abit deeper
Thanks for all your help I really appreciate it

Posted By Paul Leadbetter If, after reading HSG71, your risk assessment says that some substances should be stored separately, how are your management going to justify not doing so?
