Hi
Looking for supplier details for LEV that can be used outside (110V weather proof and robust). To be used for ground burning activities cutting steel sections with oxy/propane burning gun.
Any contacts?

Peter - I can see where your coming from with the COSHH heirarchy but this type of activity is normally carried out with Burners wearing Airstream helmets with a cutting visor on our sites.

Thanks Danny
Have considered more sphisticated RPE (currently 1/2 mask with P3 and NO filter) but we have a client insisting that local exhaust be the first step ahead of any RPE. Not happy with the LEV solution myself due to manual handling, trip hazards with cables, electricty, generator on site, weather suitability and sceptical we can move enough air outside with the size of units available but you know how it is. Client also raising concerns over fumes migrating over the site into other populated areas.
Regards
Peter

You should be able to hire electrically driven "air movers" or portable extractors from any decent hire company. You can fit them with a cone and trunking. They are often used for confined space entry preparation however they might work in this case although you would probably have "belt and braces" RPE as backup. Hope this is what you are looking for.

Consider using a blower; it's more efficient and should provide adequate protection.
