Posted By garyh I am still looking for a "Powerpoint" presentation for the above for scaffs; it would need to cover the use of fall arrest equipment harnesses and lanyards etc, when and how to use them (known in the trade as "SG4" training). Can anyone help? Surprisingly NASC (who publish SG4 and supply a pocket guide) don't have a training package. Surely someone does?

Posted By Gary IMD(UK) Hi Gary, If it's just a Powerpoint presentation you need (i.e. Not video , DVD or CD Rom) Can you not create one specifically to what you want? All of the courses that we develop and deliver are 'Company Specific', i.e. They meet the needs and objectives of the organisation. That way, you don't have to trawl through slides of 'irrelevant' work! Just a thought... Give me a call or mail if you'd like further information. Take care!

Posted By Des Daly Gary - for information: The NASC are working on a training package for SG4:05. However, the original SG4:00 has a training package Power Point presentation that I can let you have. It covers the core principles of safe working for scaffolders that were extended and applied to wider scaffolding applications in SG4:05. Let me know if you want a copy e-mailed. Posted By kevin otteson Interesting site safety access, just look at the home page, the two guys on the platform are wearing harnesses, all well and good, but surely they should be clipped on to the guard rail above their heads and not by their waist. Then if they fall this reduces the distance and thereby the ammount of shock trauma they would suffer if they did fall. Am i being pedantic or should i really be getting out more. Cheers.

Posted By john houlihan yes you should get out more....no im only joking. Back to the discussion.... you are quite right, clipping on above your head would reduce the fall factor albeit the two scaffolders are perched behind collective protection- a single guardrail. Having had dealings with Safety & Access I have found them to be a very professional body who are leading the way in bringing the scaffold industry into the current century, bravo safety & access!! Being adept in the nuts and bolts of the scaffold industry and related health and safety issues I welcome pointing people in the right direction.
