Fellow colleagues

I've heard about recent changes in Irish safety legislation (Southern Ireland) can anyone give me an update as to the main Irish legislation and details of where I can gain further info, ideally without cost.

Even better if someone could send me some copies, my email is below.

I've been offered a job there and would like to see the differences between UK and Irish legislation.

There's the 'new' Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act (2005) which you can download from the HSA website:

I discovered it while researching another thread on a challenge by the EU courts on the definition of 'reasonably practicable'.

While the legislation is new, the concepts it encompasses are bread and butter issues.

The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 is the most recent Act and is available on the Health and Safety Authority's website at www.hsa.ie In addition, there are a number of guides on the act available under the publications section of the HSA website. If you are working in a certain industry such as construction, quarries etc..there is also new legislation in place..or coming through in the near future. Please contact me direct if you have any more questions on it..
