Posted By srd What is the environmental equivalent of IOSH please.
I found a few environmental associations / institutes via Google, but can not tell which is considered to be the 'main one'.

Posted By srd Thanks Stu, but is that more 'IOSH' than the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) ?

Posted By srd I don't think I made it clear that I am after an association that is concerned more with the environmental pollution aspects concerning UK businesses - as opposed to environmental health matters such as food safety and vermin.

Posted By stuart cooke Stephen,
I guess the info you are looking for is held by the environmental agency in their data bases, constructed from both enforcement actions and company returns (as part of PPC permits) This data should be retreavable on their web site.
The `standard` you where looking for escapes me also, but most course providers link in to the iema as verification that the course meets a standard Hope this helps.

Posted By Pat Hannaway Hi , Try the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (www.ciwem.org.uk). They deal with all aspects of Environmental Management and, like IOSH, are are a Chartered Institution.

Posted By J Knight Its definitiely IEMA. IEMA is concerned with environmental management, and has little to do with food hygiene. IEMA is a Chartered body and members can become Chartered Environmentalists; like IOSH they have strict membership criteria. It is a professional body for anybody working in the EM field, and has a boroader focus than some of teh bodies mentioned on this site. I have an Associate membership based on a Level 3 examination; after two year's CPD I can apply for corporate membership,
John
