Posted By Carrie Ellerby Can anyone tell me if we may have a potential vibration problem with a hand held ultrasonic welder? I have been told that there should be no issues due to the high frequency but I aren't too sure and would just like to check. Cheers, Carrie

Posted By Mike Draper There's some free advice at http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg175.pdf and more at http://www.hse.gov.uk/vibration/index.htm Check the instructions for the equipment. If it is relatively new then there should be a spec for the amount of vibration produced by the tool. If it is below 2.5m/s^2 based on an 8 hour reference period then you are below the exposure action value. Mike
