Posted By Phil Brunton I have been looking into the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations and specifically the use of Amber Warning Beacons on vehicles travelling under 25mph. Does the use of beacons under these regulations only apply to dual-carriageway roads or do they apply to single-carriageway roads as well? If so, does it not seem a daft that you can have a ride on roller travelling along the road from site to depot at 5mph - 10mph with no warning beacons in operation. Can any one help?

Posted By Martin Gray Phil The Road Vehicle Lighting Regs 1989 Reg 17 applies only to unrestricted dual carriageways, there is no mention of other roads in the legislation. However if you feel that in your risk assessment that the moving of this vehicle at low speeds is a hazard then you may use an amber flashing light but the law does not require it.
