Posted By Descarte TAZHAZ in Australia is special assessments made for zoo workers and those in the environment working with Tazmanian devils But I would guess it would be RadHaz for things like the SUSAT scope which on the SA80 contains radioactive mats in the needle which glows in the dark as I believe from a few years ago now

Posted By Richie Russell, I am a Safety Adviser at an MOD Airstation. I have never heard of RAZHAZ, therefore I feel the issue concerns RADHAZ. In the MOD RADHAZ pertains to Radiation Hazards. This is a pretty specialised discipline, which not only takes into account non-ionising radiation hazards to workers (principally regarding the body heating effect RADHAZ can produce), but also hazards to equipment (electromagnetic compatibility) and affecting electronically initiated explosive devices. This link will provide some useful background reading: http://www.qinetiq.com/h...aflets.Par.0009.File.pdf NRPB will probably be able to provide further information regarding RADHAZ, although they may have a different term for it. The main hazards are emitted from RADAR and from radio communication transmissions. RADHAZ does not pertain to Ionising Radiation. That is a completely separate discipline. Richie

Posted By Russell Wilkinson Many Thanks for all the answers.I am hoping it is a typing error on the Health & Safety Form. RADHAZ seems to be the answer.
