Posted By Dave Faragher The WTD for mobile workers in the UK has done nothing to improve the lot of LGV Drivers in fact this directive has put an increased cost on to the Transport industry and has done NOTHING for road safety so whats the craic, where is VOSA, Where is the enforcement, are we talking about another piece of legisilation that cannot be enfored in other words " A DAMP SQUIB" faragher Comments please

Posted By Frank Hallett OK David Could you give us a clue as to what the background to your comments are? I believe that the UK approach to the WTD has been flawed from the beginning 'cos the EU WTD is a clearly stated H&S Directive but the UK Regulations have not enacted it as a H&S issue. Could this have a bearing on your obvious anger at the UK implementation? Frank Hallett

Posted By Dave Faragher Hi Frank first let me apologise for my high horse attitude, you appear to have hit the nail on the head,I work in the transport,warehousing and distribution industry and represent these men / women as a health and safety rep I therefore speak with them and visiting drivers on a daily basis,the general attitude is ignore the WTD and it will go away this of course is not correct, the employer for his part appears to condone this type of attitude,maybe a communication with VOSA would help (no more Mr nice guy) Dave Faragher
