After a recent incident on one of our construction
sites a Terex 1 Tonne dumper overturned with the
slightest of ease. No casualties.
Has anyone else experienced a similar incident on their site? How regular
do these vehicles overturn? Can you recommend a more stable piece of plant?

I cant really recommend a more stable dumper - they are all (I believe) equally stable / unstable. They are designed for use on even, fairly solid surfaces. Are the operators fully trained in the use? Whilst these machines are suitable on uneven ground (maybe) they should drive straight up or down slopes and not traverse slopes (obvious risk of overturning), they should not be used on very rough surfaces with sudden rises or drops, no sharp turns at speed etc. - in terms of stability similar to fork lift trucks.

Load distribution in the bucket is also one of the more common reasons for overturn. I also find it remarkably easy to overload these and other small dumpers as the bucket capacity is nearer to 1.5 cubic metres so will be overlaoded by some normal construction materials and spoil.
