Posted By Darryl Jones Morning All, I have been having a bit of a debate with our HR about random Alcohol testing, to cut a long story short myself and the warehouse Manager what to introduce this but the HR are stating things are not that simple, stating Human rights and Employment Law. We have a Alcohol/Drugs policy which states Zero tolerance for substances on site but not testing. We have in the employees contacts the right to amend the contact giving one months notice in writing etc. I know of other companies testing staff, but our HR state they are in breech of Human rights and Employment Law. I have stated we all have Human Rights and amendments could be made to the Policy and the contacts with minimum fuss. Could you all give me your thoughts/advise as this has been on going for 6 months now.

Posted By PaulA Darryl.. Do a google word search on 'Network Rail Drug alchohol policies'. They have both random and 'for cause' screening. Human rights my a**e!. Its a great way of not importing risks onto the NR infrastructure. email me more if you require the policies and arrangements we have in place... kind regards PaulA
