Posted By Fornhelper Help!!! I am aware that Care Homes are exempt from the need for fire certificates but I urgently need to find out where this exemption is specified relative to Scotland. If anyone can point me in the right direction (whilst I trawl through the regulations !!!) it would be greatly appreciated. Regards FH

Posted By Anwar Afzal With effect from the 1st of October, all commercial properties including care homes etc will be exempt from fire certificates, but they will all have to have a detailed fire risk assessment in place which outlines all procedures for prevention and fire fighting equipment in place.
