Posted By john r sharp A question for M&E company colleauges: Do any of you provide basic first aid training e.g a four hour session, to cover CPR and injuries related to electricity, to your electricians? Several of our senior managers seem to think that it is a requirement to do this. So I am throwing it open!! My personal view is that it is a good idea, but should be backed up by the correct number of qualified first aiders. Over to you all. John

Posted By JEFFREY SMITH Wow, good question and I'm surprised you do not have an answer from anyone yet! I cannot find anywhere that states 1st Aid Trg is a requirement but am glad to hear that your mamagement seem to think that it should be! I would go with it if I were you... As for adequate 1st Aiders around, it depends on where the electricians are working... Good luck (lucky chap!)

Posted By Dave Dowan Hi John We have engineers (not electricians) who have to work on the electrical supply for street cabinets. They have to complete a G39 competency course and most of the regional electricity companies who run the course insist that they attend the 1/2 day first aid course. I suppose in the end it will be down to good old risk assessment. Hope this helps Dave
