Posted By Dee Dear All, I have just seen a trailer for a Frontline Scotland programme tomorrow (Wednesday) evening entitled "The Human Price of Oil", which I thought may be of interest to others. I think the jist of it is looking at the O&G industry and how the majority of the major players always promote safety over profit and whether this is actually the case. The listing information is as follows: "Scotland's oil is a huge earner for the companies who work the North Sea. Last year it helped Shell make the biggest profits in British corporate history. But there is a human price to pay. When Piper Alpha exploded on 6 July 1988 it was the world's biggest oil field disaster, killing 167 people. A former senior manager with Shell tells Frontline Scotland's Ross McWilliam that another tragedy on that scale could happen anytime.
