Posted By Dee Dear All, I have just seen a trailer for a Frontline Scotland programme tomorrow (Wednesday) evening entitled "The Human Price of Oil", which I thought may be of interest to others. I think the jist of it is looking at the O&G industry and how the majority of the major players always promote safety over profit and whether this is actually the case. The listing information is as follows: "Scotland's oil is a huge earner for the companies who work the North Sea. Last year it helped Shell make the biggest profits in British corporate history. But there is a human price to pay. When Piper Alpha exploded on 6 July 1988 it was the world's biggest oil field disaster, killing 167 people. A former senior manager with Shell tells Frontline Scotland's Ross McWilliam that another tragedy on that scale could happen anytime. Speaking publicly for the first time about his fears, he says lack of investment and maintenance are putting lives at risk." It is on from 1900-1930 hours. Best Wishes, Dee
