Posted By Ali Does anyone have any advice on this one. I work as a Safety Adviser for a Housing Association, which does repairs & maintenance from time to time. What is available out there for very minor works on roofs such as pointing a chimney stack or replacing a couple of slipped or missing tiles.Full scaffolding may not be reasonably practicable. The roofs tend to be pitched and sometimes multi-valleyed with no parapets. Thanks

Posted By Salus Ali, you need a scaffolding (access tower & work platform around the chimney for repointing. For the one or two loose tiles if the access is goods use a mobile tower with a ridge ladder. If you cannot get anything in except a ladder and ridge ladder, make sure it is secured from movement and follow short duration / light work with ladders.

Posted By Anwar Afzal Ali dont you employ the services of competent contractors who take on that responsibility. It would be advisable to do so, and ensure you have all their documentaion to hand on risk assessments and method statements etc. Where is your association based, as i work for one in Birmingham.
